I met Donna Robinson when she was assigned by the relocation company when I was relocating from Chicago to Birmingham. She did a marvelous job of navigating me through a market that was relatively new to me. When I decided to move two years later to be closer to my office, I did not hesitate to list my house with Donna as I needed someone I could trust as this was the first house I was selling without the involvement of a relocation company. While the house went under contract quickly, the deal fell through at the last minute due to an issue with the buyer. The house was quickly re-listed and back under contract within a couple of days. It was certainly not an ideal situation, Donna took it quite personally and took the time to talk me through it and help me get a greater understanding of the realities and vicissitudes of the real estate market. I remember her telling me at closing that “this was the best thing that could happen to you because it shows you how difficult things can get in selling a house. Nothing matters and changes can happen until the closing is complete.” I won’t forget that piece of advice and I certainly won’t forget Donna’s understanding, tutelage, graciousness and hustling to get my house back under contract so I could move forward.
